Solstice
The solstice chorus greets the dawn
on this the longest day.
A fleeting glimpse of sun and then,
Clouds turn the sky to grey
and trees and flowers lift up their heads
to feel the summer rain,
as daytime hours pass swiftly by,
the sun shines once again.
